Professor, IT

Richard W. Land is a professor at ITT-Tech, Point Park University, Strayer University and Axia College of University of Phoenix Online. He has over 10 years experience in the teaching field and over 20 years experiences in the IT field, and retired as a federal employee working as a Personnel Data Technician for the Department of Defense (DoD) with the U.S. Air Force. Professor Land has also retired with 25 year's experience as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) with the 171st Air Refueling Wing (Pennsylvania Air National Guard) as the Base Education and Training Manager, an advisor to the Community College of the Air Force - Pittsburgh Region, and as a Personnel Data Technician. He presently co-manages an IT partnership business.

Professor Land has an Ed.S. in Computing Technology in Education from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Master of Science (M.S.) in Communications & Information Systems (IS) and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration B.S.B.A.) in Management of Information Systems (M.I.S.) concentrating on Computer Networks and Personal Computers (PC) Both of his M.S. and B.S.B.A. degrees were from Robert Morris University. He also has an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) degree in Personnel Administration with the Community College of the Air Force.

He has professional memberships with the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – Computer Society, Association for Computer Machinery (ACM) and Special Interest Group – Computer Human Interaction (SIGCHI).

He is presently attending NSU at the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences (SCIS) in the Ph.D. doctorate program in Computing Technology in Education. He has completed course work and is currently working on his dissertation.
